About PassportCrop
PassportCrop is a free tool for cropping passport and visa photos to the exact size required by ten countries, including the USA, UK, India, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Philippines, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka. It was built after running into the same frustration most people hit: existing tools either upload your photo to an unknown server, charge for a basic crop, or apply AI "enhancement" that several passport offices explicitly reject.
How it works
Everything runs in your browser using the HTML canvas API. When you choose a photo, it gets decoded and cropped locally on your device. It's never uploaded to a server, because there's no server-side processing step in this tool at all. Close the tab and the photo is gone from memory. Nothing is stored, logged, or transmitted anywhere.
What this tool does not do
- No AI background replacement or face retouching. Several countries, the UK included, explicitly disallow AI-altered photos.
- No accounts, no watermarks, no paywall.
- No automatic pass/fail compliance check. Final acceptance is always up to the issuing government agency, not this tool.
